NURSERY SPOTLIGHT
 Yamagami's Nursery in Cupertino, California is celebrating its Diamond Anniversary (60 years). That's quite an achievement for a family-owned nursery in the heart of the Silicon Valley! Over the years, Yamagami's has remained committed to providing the best plants and products with outstanding service. Its motto - “When You Want to Succeed…The First Time” - might be the reason Yamagami's continues to thrive.
 Yamagami's is proactive in its community. Twenty year veteran Ron Kanemoto, GM and CCN Pro, serves on the Advisory Board of the Santa Clara Valley Water District. When first introduced to The Original Mulch Block, Ron recognized its water-saving benefits along with its longevity and ease of transport (see picture of Cashier Manager Amy Root) compared to big heavy, dirty bags of mulch; Yamagami's was one of the first nurseries in America to offer The Original Mulch Block to its discriminating customers.
 12-year veteran Nick Esquivel, Yamagami's Plant Buyer, serves on Norcal Eco-Gardening Conference with a focus on sustainable gardening practices, as well as the local chapter board of the California Association of Nurseries and Garden Centers. Twenty-one year veteran Carolyn Villa-Scott, an Advanced CCN Pro, serves on state group CAL-HIP working to prevent the planting of invasive plants.
